What are Crowns and Bridges and How It Works with Different Teeth?

Crowns and Bridges are the two most important devices of dental clinic with fixed prosthetic. Crown and bridges can be cemented on the teeth or can be implant on the teeth. These devices only can be removed by a doctor.

How it works

As the name, a crown can cover the damaged tooth like a crown covers the head. A crown can be shaped or structured of your teeth and can also look like a real tooth. These are made up of ceramic and Porcelain to give the natural color to your teeth. So they can be like a real tooth. Sometimes, these teeth are also made up of different metals like gold, silver, alloy and other different metals.

These metals are stronger than porcelain and also recommended for back teeth. Because back teeth need more power than other teeth that are why many people use these metals instead of porcelain.

Uses of dental Crowns
  • That can be used to cover dental implant
  • These can be used to attach a bridge
  • Cover a poorly structured tooth
  • Can repair an infected tooth
Dental crowns and bridges are used in many purposes. Let us discuss about bridges

As the name of bridge, these are used to join two or more teeth. If there is missing space in the teeth or a gap between two teeth then these bridges can be used to bind them, rotate them or shift them into missing space. They can also be used to prevent or treat the gum problems.
